SmoothScale IO Pty Ltd (ABN 66 695 664 183) ("SmoothScale", "we", "us" or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of personal information provided to us or collected by us, including through our website (the "Site").

We handle personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). A copy of the APPs is available from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

What personal information we collect

The types of personal information we may collect about you include:

  • your name;
  • your contact details, including email address and telephone number;
  • your company name, role and other business details you provide to us;
  • details of services you have enquired about, and our communications with you;
  • information you submit through forms on our Site;
  • technical and usage data collected when you visit our Site, including your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited and how you interact with the Site (see "Cookies and analytics" below).

We do not collect sensitive information (such as health information, or information about racial or ethnic origin, political opinions or religious beliefs) through our Site.

  • book a meeting with us through the Site;

Disclosure of personal information

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose personal information to:

  • service providers we use to run our business, including our website hosting provider (Webflow), our CRM and marketing platform (HubSpot) and our analytics provider (Google);
  • our professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers, where reasonably necessary;
  • courts, regulators or law enforcement where required or authorised by law.

Where we disclose personal information to service providers, we do so only for the purposes described in this policy.

Overseas storage of personal information

Some of the service providers we use store data on servers located outside Australia, primarily in the United States. This includes Webflow, HubSpot and Google. Where personal information is stored or processed overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Cookies and analytics

Our Site uses cookies, which are small text files stored in your browser that help us understand how the Site is used.

We currently use:

  • Google Analytics, to collect aggregated information about how visitors use our Site, such as pages visited, time on site and how visitors found us;
  • HubSpot tracking, to understand how visitors interact with our Site and to connect that activity with enquiries submitted through our forms.

You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser opt-out tool at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Disabling cookies may affect how parts of the Site function.

Marketing communications

If you receive marketing emails from us, it is because you provided your details to us and would reasonably expect to hear from us, or you opted in to receive them. Every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can also opt out at any time by emailing us at the address below.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted to or by us online.

Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. When personal information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

Access and correction

You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if you believe it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete. To do so, email us at the address below. We will respond to your request within a reasonable period. In limited circumstances set out in the Privacy Act, we may decline access, and if we do, we will explain why.

Complaints

If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, please contact us at the address below with details of your concern. We will investigate and respond to you in writing. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time by publishing the updated version on our Site. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
